Text messaging

For over a year I have had a Blackberry and with my plan came 1500 text messages. I never went over and all was fine when last month I checked my usage and realized that I was close to being over. I turned off my emails cause each email counts as a text and told everyone no more texting for the next week.

It was a LONG week, I didn't notice how often I used my text messages, a quick could you stop at the store on your way home to Brandon and a good morning to Milie and Angie which follows with a quick chat back and forth with them.

After the week was over and my cycle started over I switched to the family plan text messaging which was only $5 bucks more than I was going to pay to change mine to unlimited since we were paying $5 for Brandon to have 200 a month.

Within the first week I checked and I was already at 1500 and a few days before my cycle was to end I checked and I was over 5600 messages! Is there such a thing as texting anonymous? Cause I might need to look into it.

For Valentines Brandon and I actually went out on a date this year (though it was the night before, Milie and I swapped date nights) At dinner he told me I could get an iphone or a coach wallet. He wasn't able to go before hand and buy me something cause he was out to sea, if he had I would have gotten the wallet so it's a good thing he didn't have the time cause I've been eyeballing the iphone for months now and dropping hints so that's what I chose.

I'm not use to the touch screen yet so maybe this month my texting wont be as many ;)

Poor little Gavin

I just got home from school and don't feel like studying for my chemistry test that I have tomorrow and thought I would get in a quick blog; good plan huh? ; )

A month ago the boys had their 6 month check up at the dentist and Gavin had to get some work done. I knew this going in cause I saw a cavity; which lead to me making the dentist appointment in the first place. But anyways they ask to give him nitrous oxide due to his age and they fear that he wouldn't sit still. I tell them that he is a champ and to just fill the cavity.

It was a bit deeper than thought and he needed (the secret word while we are at the dentist)...a shot. They again ask to give him the gas and I tell them that he will be fine for it as long as they don't tell him that's what he is getting. I was right and he did just fine. The dentist was very impressed.

With the side of his mouth numbed Gavin kept pulling at his lip and messing with it. By the time I got home (10 minute drive at most) he had turned into Hannibal Lector and a chunk of his lip was gone and there was blood all over. I cleaned it up and iced it and realize that it was going to turn into a mess. The next morning the inside of over half his lip was white and disgusting. I bought some Abreva and applied it all day along with chap stick.

Over the next few days it was getting better when we went to Ralphs for some quick grocery shopping and I'm not sure exactly what happened, Gavin blames Ethan, Ethan says he fell on his own, but Gavin did a face dive into the curb. Again blood all over and a new cut but he also ripped the healing part of his lip in half.

We start the process of Abreva, chap stick and ice all over and while brushing his teeth the next day I noticed that his gums ever bruised, they were a deep purple/blackish. I felt bad for the little fella cause he is shy already and now he had this mess going on.

That following Sunday we were getting ready to go to Milie's for my weekly dinner over there and to watch Big Love when I noticed his front tooth was turning dark, kinda gray/blackish. I called my mom and she told me that my brother Jeremy did the same thing as a child and killed the tooth at the root and he had a black tooth.

I'm a bit vain when it comes to my kids and I started to freak out! I didn't want that for him and especially his front tooth! That night I couldn't sleep and had nightmares of his tooth so I skipped school the next day and took him into the dentist and they said that he had killed the root but the good thing was that it didn't harm the permanent tooth.

I was SO bummed and wanted to cry (we all know that I'm NOT an emotional person) but this made me so sad. The dentist explained that it turned black because it was the blood draining into the tooth and I saw the black starting to form on the back side of his tooth.

For the next few days I brushed his teeth for him, cause he still had the bruise and wasn't doing such a good job and cause I prayed and prayed that it wouldn't die and that the x-rays were wrong. I also made him used Listerine and guess what.....

The tooth has turned back white and that black spot isn't there anymore. I don't know how it went from being 100% dead to not anymore, but I thank God for it. It is still a slightly different color but you have to look closely to notice and I'll take that any day over a black tooth!

*I tired to take a picture of it, but Gavin wouldn't let me

Bad blogger, bad!

This morning is a prime example of how crazy my life has been with school, kids, baseball practices, Brandon on shift work, etc, etc...

I wake up late to see that it is 7:14am, we leave the house by 7:15 to make it to school on time. I jump up grab the kids clothes and while they are waking up I dress them and shove them off to use the bathroom. I then run after them and brush their teeth for them while they are half awake standing there and wash their faces in hopes it will help. I tell them to put their shoes on while I grab a jacket cause I'm still in my pj's and don't have the time to change myself. I throw jackets on them and grab their backpacks and rush out the door. Once I dropped them off I tell them to run cause I heard the bell ring. I look at the clock and it says 7:24, thankfully it was the first bell. But I did all that in 10 minutes flat!

That's my life right now...go, go, go! I have much to blog about but haven't found the time to do so. The boys opening ceremonies is this Saturday so I will at least get that in. Also Gavin did a nose dive onto the sidewalk and KILLED his tooth! There is a story there...all to come as soon as I find a free minute.

1000 miles behind....

It's the end of the second week back to school and I already feel 1000 miles behind. My schedule didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked and after some math drama Milie made a very good point, "Sara maybe you just aren't meant to take math this semester?" I mean it was thing after thing and she says, "How many hints to do you need?" I completely agreed and ended up dropping math and I feel like a new college freshman again, excited about school. That is except for biology. It is such a foreign language to me and you would think that I would enjoy biology being a nursing major but I really don't. Chemistry on the other hand I love and can't get enough of, but biology when we are having class lectures and everyone is involved I just sit there dumbfounded, lost and confused even more than when I walked into the room.

I came home yesterday and did some serious catching up and ended the night with a dose of Hell's Kitchen (I heart that show!) While I was watching it I realized that the only other thing I've watched this week was American Idol (who doesn't?) I have gone from a stay at home mother who's highlight of her day was what happened on some reality TV show to not watching any but 2 shows a week. Brandon would be so proud if he wasn't out to sea ;)

Ouch!!!

Today on my way to school I was the third or so car back in line at the light, when the light turned green we all went along with a bicycle rider. The first car turned into an auto shop on the right not seeing the kid on the bicycle and HIT HIM!!! The other cars in front of me looked and kept on driving. I pulled over and ask the boy if he was alright and by that time the driver was out and YELLING at him that it was his fault!

I ask the boy if he wants me to call 911 and he says please. I call and typical 911 nowadays I was answered with an auto machine and put on hold. The driver goes to his car and I wasn't sure what he was doing and before he could drive off I hang up and run over and take a picture of his license plate. He saw me do this and gets out again and I call 911 back.

This time I was answered when I called and the operator could hear the man yelling at not only the boy now but also me! He kept telling me to leave and mine my own business! They send the firefighter, ambulance, and the cops!

While we are waiting for the cops to get there the guy's old man or someone continues to get into my face and the guy driving is freaking out. I keep telling him he is going about it all wrong and he should of at least asked the kid if he was alright and say sorry; which he never did.

The poor kid says to me I'm just a 20 year old trying to go to college and I can't afford a car so I ride my bicycle here. He was so freaked out and then to have the guy yelling at him on top of all that was crazy!

The guy who hit him had a lot of choice words, my favorite..."oh I know what this is, its cause I'm Mexican." That got a giggle out of me cause who says that after THEY hit someone? Then he tries to pay the kid money to just leave and the kid tells him no and the guy goes off again.

The boy who was hit kept saying sorry to me cause he thought I was going to be late for class, but I go at least an hour early to find parking, so I was good to go. The cops get there and I tell her what I saw and she sends me on my way.

What a way to start the day huh?
