All is well

After a horrible scare from the doctors of we need to see you asap, today we had another ultrasound done and baby is good. Me on the other hand, my liver is acting up again BUT it will not effect my pregnancy! Woohoo

Here is the little one

thank you all for the prayers and well wishes! I got more pictures and will post once I pull out my camera and not have to use my iPhone (since it just blurs them up) so y'all can see our little alien (that's what Gavin says it looks like)

Baby shopping once again

I know that we were going to paint and paint some more this leave, but I got sick and the paint smell has become to overwhelming for me so poor Brandon has been stuck doing it himself. He has done Ethan's room and the game room. It's more than I truly thought would get done =)

Other than painting I had a doctors appointment where we found out everything is good with the baby and I'm actually a week behind than we thought so the new due date is July 7th

We did some last minute Christmas shopping and ended it with window shopping for the baby. Brandon told me to stop looking only at girl stuff but I guess I enjoy counting my chicks before they hatch. We decided we didn't want to jinx ourselves so we didn't buy anything but I haven't stopped looking online and I think I finally found the stroller and car seat and its so cute that I felt like sharing it with all of you

I know it's not very fitting for a boy but don't worry I have one picked out for a little man as well, I'm just not as in love with it as I am with this one

but it is still cute, huh? =)

Day 2

Today is starting out a bit slower than I hoped but I woke up feeling like someone needed to take a pin needle to my head so it can pop and I can't stop sneezing!!! Sneezing is not only annoying but also painful! My poor pregnant body is already taking a beating but to have my ovaries feel like they are going to explode with each sneeze (TMI, but I wanted to explain to the best of my ability ;))It just needs to STOP!

Enough complaining onto our goal...the game room! Pics to come

P.S. after a night of drying Ethan's room looks much better than I thought it would and only parts of each wall (top 2 feet) need another coat and not everywhere like I thought would have to be repainted

Day 1 results

We started in Ethan's room and maybe we should have re-thought that plan. His walls were pink and not thinking it would be an issue we went right ahead and started priming to only find out that the pink KEPT showing up! It took 3-4 coats to get it "good enough" for us and really I think that it needs another good coat to call it a day. The frustration really got to us and we changed our daily goals to one room a day. We still will be able to finish, maybe just not during Brandon's leave but luckily for me he is on stand down till after the holidays. Here is what we accomplished today...

Light pink

to white

On a better note, THE COWBOYS BEAT THE SAINTS!!!

Day 1

Brandon has a week of leave and I'm excited to see what we'll get done with the house. Quick catch up to where we are, as soon as we moved in we painted the family room and kitchen and set those rooms up. Come to find out it needs a second coat and I didn't LOVE the paint color so I lost all motivation, plus Brandon was leaving for sea so not much as been finished.

The unfinished house is making me depressed and with Brandon's up coming deployment and knowing I will deliver while he is gone, it's just not a good situation. So we are planing on taking care of much of this problem this week (minus time for the Cowboy game and Christmas) I'll post pictures of our accomplishments (fingers crossed there are some!).

Today's goal...prime the kids rooms, I would say paint but the boys haven't nailed down how they want to do their rooms and since we don't know what we are having it would be pointless to paint the nursery...wish us luck!

Doggie delusion

We have a cute chihuahua named Bella and like every other ankle bitter she believes she is bigger than she is, but the part that I find hilarious is that she will sniff her path whenever we go on walks. Not like normal dogs that sniff here and there but like a hound dog, from start to finish her nose is down and sniffing the way. The best is when she gets her nose deep into the grass.

Christmas 2009

Here is what my boys asked for...

Flat screen and it can't be tiny...picky, picky

times 2, cause who shares anymore...right?

Ethan thinking he has all the friends in the world that a 7 year old needs an iPhone!

Gavin at least knowing he won't be calling anyone only wants an iPod touch!

This is what they will be getting, a nice sack of coal!

baby overload

Like every pregnant women once you find out your pregnant you start looking at everything you might need. My obsession is bedding and since I really want a girl that has been 90% what I've been looking at. I know I'll eat crow for only looking at girl stuff and only thinking of girl names, but I'm willing to take the chance. Here is the bedding that I'm in love with at the moment and knowing me I'll change my mind 10 more times. Let me know what you think...

Bad Blogger!

A lot has been going on here in the Miles' house the past month, the boys started their new school, Brandon spent a lot of time out to sea, and while trying to still get the house in order we ended up with some pipe drama. But everything is on track and we are off to Las Vegas tomorrow for Brandon's 30th.

Other than milestones, the boys got swine flu from their school mates and I thankfully only ended up with the flu, but my body wasn't recovering like I thought it should so it was suggested that I take a pregnancy test, this is the first result

The lighter line FREAKED me out and I didn't know what to make of it, so I decided to wait till the morning and take another one and this was it's result

A little darker but not enough to convince me or Brandon, so I ran back over to the store and decided to buy a digital test and that way it would straight up tell me pregnant or not pregnant, this is what I saw

WOW!! We're pregnant!! We made peace that it wasn't going to happen and stopped trying awhile back, I guess it was just meant to be and once the shock wears off it will be nice to come to terms that we are having another baby!!!

Once we get back from Vegas I'll start updated with the pictures of the events that I haven't blogged about in the past month.

Funded and Recorded

The house was supposed to close forever ago and today it FINALLY did. The mystery HOA docs were located and sent and everything else was resigned with a more current date and we are DONE! The house is OURS!!!

I got the phone call last night from our lender and today from our broker (he called thinking he was telling me something I didn't already know) and I ran outside and kicked the for sell sign. Mature I know, but I was like take that foreclosure from hell! I know that sounds crazy but in my mind it made sense : )

Now we have tons of painting to do and thanks to my mom for the fridge and Brandon's dad for the washer and dryer, we'll only have to figure out how to come up with a lump sum for the blinds. Every room has huge windows and the great people that lived here before us took the blinds with them so all our neighbors can at anytime see where and what we are doing in the house. We cant even use our shower unless we want to put on a show.

Brandon asked me last night if now I could please stop stressing...I told him I wished but now I have Vegas to deal with, so maybe after that : )

Attention to details

I have been so caught up in packing and signing TONS of paper work and making sure that they get back to our loan officer on time that I didn't really read over my syllabus in detail and come to find out I have a midterm in Political Science this week! So on top of moving and have escrow delays I now have to find time to study for my test.

Anyone want to switch lives for a week?

WE DID IT!!!

Buying a home is STRESSFUL to say the least and buying a bank owned just added to it. After 2 1/2 months we signed our loan docs today! I really thought a few times that it wasn't going to happen and that we would have to start the process over and there were even a few times when I hoped that would happen, BUT it all worked out and we are HOMEOWNERS!!!

The appraisal added an extra surprise of an HOA and that has caused some drama and it has delayed the escrow part of signing (but that should be taken care of over the weekend) We have been packing for awhile now here (or I should say I have) and Tuesday is move day. I was in tears yesterday due to all the drama and now I'm am a bit giddy.

9 years and 3 kids Brandon and I are finally grown ups

no bueno

We just relized that we close September 21 which is a Monday and our move out date is September 25 that Friday, that leaves ZERO weekend days for Brandon to help with the move! He requested the 27th and since it is a weekend they moved it to that Friday, GREAT! Not only are we moving an hour away but I'll be doing most of it myself!

Life

Things around here are busy, busy, busy! I had made a master plan to clean the house, pack and stay on top of my school work and Brandon had to throw a curve ball at me. Housing wanted to do a pre-inspection which gave me 4 days instead of 4 weeks!

The more I started going through stuff the bigger the mess became. I had a keep, give away/sell, and trash pile in each and every room! Last night I came to the conclusion that the house wasn't going to be in move out condition for the pre-inspection and made peace with it. The manager came by today and walked through the downstairs, looked in the garage and said he was done and that the house was fine.

Over stressing again about small things, story of my life! At Least now I have a huge jump start into getting rid of everything I don't want to take with me to the house.

As far as closing goes, we were sent another set of documents that we have to sign and our lender called today and feels that should be everything so that we can have the 21st as our closing date. That is 3 weeks away! I can't even try to imagine I'll be a home owner in 3 weeks!

As of school, it's school. Homework sucks, math is hard and I read a great book for Political Science, They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky. We don't have to write a report on it till midterms, but the last book I was assigned to read was so difficult to get through that I thought I would start now and I ended up not being able to put it down. Guess I should start that paper now since we will be in Vegas when it is due.

Speaking of Vegas, I am getting more and more RSVP's (is that spelled right or even a word?) and I can't wait to see everyone! I counted 12 states that I sent invites to, Navy life brings friends from all over.

Money...ugh!!!

Textbooks are ridiculous these days and since we are in the middle of escrow I can't use a student loan this semester and I really thought I was going to have to miss this semester. Brandon kept telling me that maybe it was for the best since we will be moving in the middle of the term and that way I'm not trying to study for midterms and unpack. After tons of pros and cons lists and prayer I decided to make it work and my lovely hero of a mother saved the day and is fronting me the money till next month after closing! So boo to textbooks and yeah to mom's who understand the value of education!

turning the corner

We are six weeks out now from our offer being accepted and I FINALLY feel like the ball is rolling. There has been a few snags and a couple weeks of limbo, but the paperwork is with underwriter and we are 4 weeks out from closing!

It just sucks knowing we could have already been done if there wasn't drama, but that's life and everything else went so quickly something had to explode.

All in all we can see the finish line, we are 3/4th around the track and the last 100 meters should be a straight dash to the end.

Doggie dilemma

Romo decided he isn't into kids so much so the adoption specialist suggested Screech. All I know is that he is 5 years old and a Hurricane Katrina survivor. We will be happy with any dog that is the perfect fit for our family. Here is the picture they sent me of Screech

The boys said he looked kinda sad, I told them it's because he wants a forever home

Best gift E-V-E-R!

Brandon gave me the go ahead today to apply for Romo. If you don't know who Romo is, read up on him here

The lady who will go over our application is on vacation for a few more days, but that is okay since we can't even think about getting him until we move. Good ole' Navy housing doesn't allow pets.

Romo lives at Dog Town in Utah and we will pick him up after Brandon's party in Vegas (thanks Milie for the great plan) that is if we are approved. They first have to come and check out the house and make sure that there is a yard and room for him.

I'm SO excited it's been a long five months since I first saw his face and fell in love. I was for sure that he would be adopted by now, but like I said it's fate!

take that!

Today is the day for Gavin to have his stitches removed and we all got ready and were about to head out. FYI, when we were discharged they said I can either come back to the ER and wait and they will remove them or I can go to my local clinic.

Just to be on the safe side I called ahead to our clinic and guess what they said? GO TO THE ER! I don't want to wait hours for the 10 seconds it takes to remove the stitches, so I did it myself!

Gavin was a trooper and only asked what was I cutting and then he only wanted to count along with me while we pulled them out. Amya had told the nurse practitioner that I am a nursing student so she gave me the suturing kit so I had all the right tools.

Thanks to her she save us a day wasted at the ER

Day in the ER

I was upstairs when I heard Gavin and Ethan yelling (play yelling) at eachother and a few seconds later crying. This is what I see...

After cleaning it up I realize that it will need either a butterfly band-aid or glue to close tightly. I take him over to our local clinic in hopes they can do that so I don't have to go to the ER, but of course they send us to Balboa

While we wait during every ER wait I was telling myself it's not that bad and maybe we could just leave. Right when I was about to get up to leave they call our name and after all the in take they clean it better than I did and I realize how deep it is. Next is the steps it took us to get out of there

numbing

every 5 minutes adding more

after 20 minutes good to go

the first doc thought we could just glue it (classic corpsman judgement) while the nurse practitioner realized it needed to be stitched. They wrapped him up like a burrito thinking that he would kick and scream but my champ didn't move an inch

getting stitched up, they covered his eyes thinking it would help keep him still but he was watching through the gauze the entire time

All done

we go back next week to get the top layer of blue stitches out. crazy up close and personal picture but you see what I'm talking about

So that was our day, topped off with lovely San Diego traffic

Private

I've been meaning to go private for some time and with all the major events going on right now I don't need all of the world knowing where we're moving, how the modern world's medical interventions are helping us along with baby #4, and how I did in school (who really wants to read about that anyways?)

But we do want our family and friends to keep updated on the rugrats and progress of everything...especially when it comes to the remolding, I am far from an interior designer and will need your opinion...desperately! Really we want y'all to know what's going on in our lives while y'all are spread throughout the US, so I don't have to repeat myself over and over : )

So, if you want to be added send me your email so your not left out. I'll be making the change within the next week or two.

"You're fired!"

Our loan officer has been a pain in the ___! And today I got to fire her! It was so liberating, I have never felt better about a decision in my life. Without having Brandon around to vent to and emails not getting the same result, my poor mom and bestie (Milie) have been having to deal with me.

I thought maybe I should just step back and deal with it since I don't want to go through the process of another loan officer but I was having a terrible time dealing with paying someone who was treating me like crap. Our broker agreed and even though he has worked with her for years he called and simply said, " I have a question for you, how do you feel about Danielle?" Poor guy probally wasn't expecting me to completely unload, but I did. He said that he completely understood and agreed and will have another replacement without us having to deal with any b/s.

That's what you get for thinking you can treat people like that and take their money!

Good news

I just received my last grade for summer semester and I got a 4.0! There is nothing sweeter than being able to take a normal 16 week semester and be able to still pull off an A in 5 weeks. The teachers don't give you less work, its WAY more. At some points I felt overloaded with everything else going on, but I did it.

And thanks to Milie for being my editor I was able to get 100% on my last two papers!

Escrow - husband = not a happy camper

Having to deal with my lender is tough enough let alone Brandon being gone for all the paper work is stressing me. It's not fun buying a house with a piece of paper (power of attorney) compared to him actually being here.

Our broker swears things will only go up from here. Today should be the last b/s day, I'll believe it once the keys are handed over.

Brandon isn't just missing out on all the paper work, he is missing out on picking paint, carpet, flooring all the "fun" stuff. I can't make up my mind and Amya and I have been back and forth between Home Depot and Lowes and I think I finally have the carpet, flooring and paint for the living areas picked out.

I took this picture with my Iphone to get Milie's opinion so I'll take a better one later, this is just to give y'all an idea

The parents are trying to arrange to come down at closing to help with the move and pops can help with the flooring. I'm not sure if I'm more excited to get our keys or see the family or have the family see Brandon and I as "grown ups."

Escrow here we come

We drove out to the house today to make a final decision if we want to go through with it, after a couple hours out there and a few walkthroughs Brandon and I decided to go with it. The house is sound but in need of some TLC, nothing some paint and cleaning can't fix. Here are a few of the pictures I took...Oh also a lot of family has been asking size and what not it is a 5 bedroom 3 bath and a little over 3100 square feet. We love the potential and the space for growth...okay back to pictures

3 car garage, single to the left double to the right

kitchen was MUCH bigger than we thought, we'll eventually go granite and stainless steel (we do have 30 years to upgrade lol)

and cabinets don't need replacing like I thought

windows in stairwell

dead but Brandon will fix

Doors to master bedroom

Master bath/ his and hers

2 sets of cabinets upstairs, these in the hallway and one in the loft

these are just a few, will post more once I take better ones (wasn't in my photographer mood today)

Research paper

We had to write a 8 page (2 of the pages were the title page and the other was the works cited) research paper for history. He gave us this assignment right after the class started and of course me and my procrastination waited once again till the day it was due to start. Not only was the paper due that day but 5 chapters of questions were as well.

I took the kids to school came home and started on the questions. Only break I took was to watch the Michael Jackson Farewell. The first week of questions took me 4 hours and the second week 7 hours, Tuesday wasn't any different another 7 hours! After a quick dinner I started in with my paper.

My goal was to be done by 10-10:30 so that I could have Milie or my mom proof read it and have it submitted by the due time of 11:30. After a lot of nagging from Amya, Brandon, Milie and everyone else I finally finished and thankfully Milie took the time to proof it for me and caught a few errors. I submitted it and have been waiting for my grade all week, it came today and I got 100%

Good attitude paid off

I had just sent our agent a new list of houses that we want to see tomorrow and then not even 10 minutes later he calls. I'm thinking it was to say he got the list and that we were good to go but it was that our offer was accepted!

These pictures are from the listing, we are headed up in the morning and I will post the ones I take in afternoon
