What is that?

Ethan and Gavin have been drawing and cutting out shapes and pictures today and Ethan brings me this...

For you sick minded people (me included) this is what it was supposed to be...

When did the norm sloop to this level?

I have a pair jeans that whoever made them thought it would be funny to make them as low cut as possible and in turn they give me the lovely plumbers crack like no other. Tonight I was bent over picking up toys and I saw Ethan walking over and I was just waiting to see what he would say and sadly all he did was look and keep walking! OMG my 5 year old thinks that it is okay to have half my buttocks peaking out of my jeans. This is for all you individuals who may have possibly been a victim of these ungodly jeans, so I here by solemnly swear when I get our tax return that I will go out and buy some proper fitting jeans!

Your welcome Hannah! :-)

Disappointed!

We have for weeks been planning Hannah’s baby shower and I have been reassured countless times that they would take the web cam with them so I can somewhat be there. Even a few hours before I talked with Dexter and he said he would be my eyes! So do you think they took the web cam? That would be a NO! I’m officially telling everyone who reads this that my family sucks and don’t put your faith in them because they always forget! Okay I’m just playing I called them right after and gave them a hard time and told them I would blog about them, so there this is what you get mom for forgetting me!

About the post below, she lied…it has a few scratches on it and it is a lot smaller then I thought. I thought it was a tall computer hutch, but it is shorter than me. BUT overall I’m still very excited about it because I can fix the scratches with a touch up pen.

Y’all should have seen me getting it out of my car and into the house. I used the boy’s wagon and laid it on its side and wheeled it into the house. The only problem is when I went down the stairs it made one of the doors open it hit the stair and took a chunk out, but I didn’t even let that bug me. I was just so happy to finally have a desk again. Now if I can just figure out where I’m going to put it! I have rearranged my furniture at least 5 times! And that is no lie. I’ll put it in place and not like it and then change it just to go back to what I started with!

Onto other things, tonight the boys are going to a babysitter! It will be for a good amount of time and I’m kind of freaked! I know that they will be fine and that they love playing with Nick, but still my babies have to be watched so I can go out. After all the back and forth of going or not and even planning on flying family down to watch the boys I am going to halfway night! We’ll see how it goes and I’m sure the boys will be the least of the any problems that may accrue! (most know what I’m talking about and to add salt to the wound I overheard some things that I wished I hadn’t cause now I know people are being fake to my face)

Bigger and better things are happening today. Today is Hannah’s baby shower! I’m so excited for her, but secretly sad that I’m not there for it. I wish we lived by family and that it wasn’t such a hassle to get home for important events. While we were in Washington we went on weekend trips to Hannah’s softball tournaments, I was able to go to everyone’s birthday dinners, we hung out with my other nieces and nephew! Seeing family was a daily thing! I miss being home!

What a steal!

I haven’t been so stoked for awhile! I am ecstatic to all heavens!!! I have butterflies in my stomach, I had to call everyone that I thought would be awake and of course called my mom regardless that it is late and that she has to work tomorrow, sorry mom! I have been doing my homework on my bed and for any of you that sit for long period of time criss cross apple sauce my knees have been begging to sit at a desk. Brandon really wanted to find a corner desk, but after checking out shipping we haven’t found anything that we loved. I have been looking on Craig’s list for the past week and I found this

Here’s the best part I got this Pier One Armoire for $50!! That’s right you didn’t read wrong a couple just want it out of their garage and I’m the lucky person to take it off their hands!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

We live by a small airfield and while we were passing it today I told Gavin that he should be a pilot when he grows up because he would make a good looking one and all the girls will want him. He turns and looks at me and puckers his lips and says nah so I ask him what he wants to be when he grows up and he says straight faced and serious as all can be that he wants to be a hot dog so people can eat him! I’m thinking he has a bright future ahead of him!

I Have A Dream

I thought in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day tomorrow I would write my dream.

I have a dream of peace and harmony. That one day my family can walk down any street at any giving time of day or night and feel safe. I have a dream that every woman, child, and man will never go a day without hungry or fear of where they will lay their head down to rest. I have a dream every person regardless of their class, status, or wealth will have the desire to become somebody who will make a difference in our world. I have a dream that health care will be looked at as a necessity and not a potential gain for others. I have a dream that everyone will want the best for others and will look at their own success as the success of their family, friends, and community. I have a dream that one day everyone will care more about others than themselves!

I know I this is a big dream but I believe that one day it could be if everyone worked for it! I have a dream!

Writing as ordered!

Well where to start? This is new to me but Sara seems to have the hang of this by now so bear with me... I am three months into a six-month deployment and am missing San Diego and the family more than anyone can imagine. Deployment has been as fun as it can be but somewhat interesting because I haven't really seemed to find my comfort place on my second tour on USS Topeka. Don't get me wrong I am established and doing well at my job as usual just really have not gelled with the people like I did on shore duty or last time on Topeka. It has always been easy to make friends for me and have some guys I really get along with but no bonds like the ones I had before. Just took the Chief's exam a couple of days ago and hopefully in August there will be some good news coming my way and can move on from Topeka and begin a new journey somewhere different. Back to deployment, have been to three different parts of Japan and am now in Guam with the final port on the horizan that will conclude my journey of sights for this time away. Underway is really what is the crappy part, living on a black steel tube can really get boring over time. I have gotten a few things accomplished in my time off. I am on my fifth season of Madden and Tiger Woods for PS3, read a little, studied for my exam, and watched more movies than you can imagine. I bet you are all JEALOUS! Now if i could get the wifey to get me some more entertainment for the second half like NFL tour for PS3 and maybe the World Series of Poker game for the PSP (HINT HINT) I might just not lose my mind the second half! Other than that not really that much to do with the time after I stand watch. Well I feel like I am rambling a bit so I will let you all go for now and will try to come up with something interesting to post by the time I am in the next port. Everyone stay safe and I will talk to you later. Brandon

It's back!!!

Today we were going to go to the San Diego Zoo with some friends and we even went to bed early and I cut my phone conversation with Brandon short so we would be able to get up on time and everything. Then at 1:30"ish" Gavin woke up and started getting sick again! I'm am completely and utterly over the flu, I mean come on it's not fun anymore! I'm sick of washing bedding and 5 loads of laundry everyday. I'm sick of the smell! I'm just over it all! Okay that's it, I just needed to rant. Hope y'all are having a better day.

It's Daddy!

I've been meaning to post this for awhile but have been caught up with life and have failed to do so, but I feel that it is really blog worthy! I climbed into bed a few weeks ago and find this in Brandon's spot...

I asked Ethan what was this and he said, “It’s Daddy” with the voice of duh, I should had known better! I showed it to Brandon on web cam while he was in Japan and he says, "Great, now I'm a pokemon!"

Here's your sign (Bill Engvall for those who dont know)

Some of you know that I handmade Hannah’s baby shower invitations and thought I would do the same for mom’s 50th birthday. I wanted to do something different and a tad bit more elegant. I have for days been trying to come up with the perfect invitation. We have made daily trip to the craft store and it has I guess become a routine because tonight Gavin comes up to me and asked when we are going to Michael’s (craft store)! I have pretty much been on the floor of my bedroom making different cards and trying to figure out which one I was going to go with. I finally finished today and made my way down stairs to find out that the boys have thrashed downstairs to my unknowing! It was so bad that all I could do is turn around and come back upstairs to take a breather. I called the boys to my room and told them they needed to pick up the mess or else! I then was told by my 5 year old, “Why should we clean our mess when your room looks like this?” I looked around my room and saw the millions of scraps of cardstock and photo trimmings. I would take a picture of the mess, but I do have some pride. Instead here is the final invitation for mom’s party.

I guess I have no shame!!!

And here is the actually invitation

Edward Scissor Hands Wanna Be

Let’s start here; I took this last night of Gavin thinking of how cute it is that he cuddles up to a stuff animal every night. Then tonight...

That's right Gavin took it upon himself to cut his hair, guess he thought he needed one.

The devil himself!

See the red mark on his forehead that is where he stabbed himself and in my opinion that is what he gets! Tough I know, but if he wants to play with the big boys he needs to take it like one!

He is so proud!

Please let it be a bad dream, please let it be a bad dream, please let it be a bad dream!

Damn it! And could he stick it in my face anymore?!

ding, ding, ding! Round 2, 3, 4, 5, & so on

While drive down the freeway I hear the dreadful sound of my child throwing up in the car! I don’t know if many of you have drove in San Diego before, but it's not the city that you can merge over and pull off in the shoulder to let your kid out to throw up on the side of the road. So I had to exit and then drive 15 minutes back home trying my best not to throw up myself! I’m SO over all the throwing up! (God forgive me for telling this story but I must) We are all in bed sleeping and I hear Ethan yelling my name, I'm thinking he's throwing up again and needs my help, so I get up and go to the bathroom. He is sitting on the toilet looking very confused and proceeds to tell me that there is puke coming out of his butt! I know this is something I should NOT be talking about on here, but it put the first smile on my face since all this sickness started. I almost died laughing that I had to call my mom and wake her up just to have Ethan tell her, and to put the cherry on top I recorded Ethan telling me what was going on! My life has become a sad story to where I find pleasure in my son's troubles!

WHY?

Why is it when a child is sick and is non-stop throwing up the WHOLE house has to smell like it. It is now 12:30am and we are on round 3 of Gavin getting sick! Each time I have given him a bath, well the last two a quick splash of water has done the job. I honestly thought that there was no way that there could be anything else left in him, but sure enough he has come up with more!

My other complaint is why when I put the bucket right next to his bed does he throw up everywhere else but in the bucket? I am on round 2 in the washer on bedding and should really be on round 3, but due to having the world’s slowest washer and dryer I’m behind!

I think I just answered my first question; my house stinks because my washer is as slow as a snail!

Madness!

So my new year’s resolution hasn’t worked out as planned! With my crazy schedule of the intersession class I haven’t even had the time to play with the boys yet alone keep up with the house. It’s not horrible and will only take a few minutes to clean up, but I’m sad that things aren’t going as planned. I am overwhelmed and feel that the boys are being neglected with all the homework I have had. I literally wake up and start on homework and don’t log off until I go to bed. I wish that I am over exaggerating, but I’m not. We have to do 4 weeks of class work in 1 week! So I have decided to drop the class and add it to the regular semester, so I’m able to get the full impact of the class. I think that it is a lot better for the family and my GPA.

I tried to get Brandon to write a post, but he was unable to translate it into English and it kept coming up in Japanese. He said he will post while he is in Guam. Yeah for y’all!

Nothing else new is really going on here. We have a week before Gavin goes back to school and two for Ethan. I am SOOO excited that I now have 2 weeks off and the boys and I can make fun family memories! I’ll let y’all know what we end up doing and post some pictures!

Intersession class

OMG is this class intense! The class started Wednesday and by Sunday I have 4 lectures, 3 chapters to read, 4 “discussions”, 3 quizzes, 1 interview (essay), and an assignment due! And that is just the first 5 days of class! What have I gotten myself into!
