How did you spend your first day of summer?

After a lovely 3-day weekend with the family, Tuesday started my summer break (finished my soco final Saturday), Brandon had to go back to work, the boys had to go back to school since their year round, my bestie spent hers having packers pick up the boxes she had been living in over the weekend, and I spent mine...back on campus!

I tell myself every summer I'm taking it off, and once again I'm NOT! I start class again Monday and yesterday I had to buy my text books. My supply list for Design is a freaking page long! I didn't even have enough to cover it all! Not my idea of fun.

The night ended with the boys last baseball games, Gavin was asked to move up a league next year even though his age is to do tee ball again. And Ethan made the last play catching the ball to win the game earning him the game ball for the third time. Guess he went full circle with that, started the season out catching the first ball and ending it the same way.

We wrapped up the night with dinner with the Garrett's, it was Brandon's last chance to see them since he will be out to sea when they leave. He said, thank god we're seeing them in November or I might of cried. He said it jokingly, but I think he'll miss them. :) Thanks, DLA for a delicious dinner

Writer's block...Not today : )

I always tend to have writers block so I procrastnate doing my papers till the day they are due! I know thats not the best habit, but it works for me. I start the paper as early in the day as I can and work on it all night if I have to.

Today I started my final paper for sociology and within a hour and a half I was done. Most of the time I get half way done and I have to walk away for a bit (hours some times) and then I can come back and finish it. I had planned my day of sitting here writing and now I'm not sure what to do with myself, guess I'll go help Milie pack her stuff since she is moving on me and going back to Washington, traitor! (but that's another blog)

Debbie downer

I am SOOOO over this semester! I am almost done, one final film review and the final exam and I'm D-O-N-E! For whatever reason this has been the longest semester and it feels like it was never going to end.

My sociology teacher has the weirdest grading breakdown, and even though I have gotten 100% on everything, except ONE, that's right 1 quiz I will be lucky to pull a B! Why can't they are grade the same way so I know what I'm up for when I register for the class?

Sorry for my rant, had to get it out and Brandon is out to sea.

Time out, not so much

Gavin has had a day of being a terror. He has been in and out of time out due to hitting, kicking, and sitting on Ethan's head. This last time he decided he had enough and passed out!

FRG with the USS Asheville

I had my first FRG with the Asheville and other than being at Mission Beach park and everybody and their grandma deciding to have a birthday party there, it was fun. Not knowing anybody from the boat I was walking around looking for a group of women trying to figure out where I needed to go.

Once I found the gals and started the meeting it was different than what I am used to. They are to the point and come with a prepared agenda. Everything was covered and then they had a drawing for a blanket and guess what...I won!

Here is the blanket, kind of nice, huh?

Other than being long and getting sun burnt it was a great meeting and I'm excited for next months.

House hunting

Brandon and I have been weighing our options of buying here in SoCal. We could get atleast twice as much back home for the price we pay and land! But Brandon is going to do his 20 and that means atleast 10 more years till we move back home.

We both don't want to wait 10+ years before we buy and now is the perfect timing! We have been looking for awhile and aren't sure if we want to buy somewhat close to base and get less house (and older!) or move north and get a "dream house" that comes along with a nightmare commute everyday for Brandon.

A few chiefs live north and all carpool down to Point Loma, Brandon could get in on this saving us greatly on gas and with his sea schedule he is pretty much gone till next summer allowing us to invest in a home rather than throw our BAH away living in housing.

Okay now that I got through all that...I think I found "the one!" I've seen it before but it was when we were kinda playing with the idea and Brandon was still wanting to do shore duty in Hawaii, now that we plan to stay here atleast for another 5 years (I'm hoping till he gets out) I keep going back to it.

I'm going next week for a showing to see if the pictures do it justice, till then here is a sneak peek for you
